Let's increase the anti-psychotic drugs shall we? So, he doesn't choke anyone else out...

Over the last few months, Jake has struggled with his implusivity....  He gets mad, instead of walking away, he gets really angry, swears and says a lot of the F word, and then proceeds to get extremely aggressive, and then has choked out a few kids.

Now, I cannot claim to have shown him how to do that, he did in fact learn it from BJJ.  BUT, every day he comes home with his communication booklet, and he is having issues.  For several times a week, someone makes him made he goes into the quiet room, AKA Jail room, and then has issues even when he comes out.  Last time someone made him mad he grabbed her by the throat and squeezed as hard as he could.  Imagine that phone call to me.

So, I made an appointment with the Psychiatrist, and we sat down and I told her about what was happening.  She said that it was probably due to his growing a bit more, and that the mood stabilizer wasn't working now, so we have to increase his doasge.  So we go from 0.25 mg twice a day to 0.25 four times a day.  I was hoping that he wouldn't keep getting angry with the increase, and we started last Wednesday.

Fast forward to Wednesday night when Jake was home with the Manny Nils, and Jake thought it was a good idea to actually steal some of the candy from the house and eat that for supper.  When Manny Nils got a hold of him, and found out, he was furious.  Jake lied and lied about it, but Nils found the evidence of the bag from the jube jubes he had eaten.  Nils told Jake to come back inside to the house, and Jake took off.  Nils went back after Jake and Jake took his hockey stick and hit Nils with it.  This made Nils so angry that he got Jake back inside and had to go downstairs to have a moment to himself.  Nils texted me and told me that things were okay, for now, and that we would have to have a conversation about what happened with Jake.  Man, this poor guy! He gets treated the same way that Jake's teachers get treated.  I can't figure out for the life of me, why do you need to be so angry?  What sets you off at school?? He leaves the house in the morning and he has no issues.  Then he gets to school, and wham.  All of this happens. It's so not cool.  This happened even with all of the increase in doasges of the medication.  I am totally stumped.

I was hoping that he would have less aggression, but its at this point that I know now that he will never be able to go back to normal school at all, since he still continues to hit people with things.  I just don't get it.  He has never tried to smack me or hit me with something, partly because he is scared of me I think.....other part that I don't let him get away with anything.  And not that anyone who is with my kids let him get away with things....but he doesn't try me.  Maybe I should be thankful for that.

So far, this week we haven't had many issues, but I've also been home an extra day more then last week.  We didn't seem to have this many problems when we had hockey every Saturday!

Fingers crossed that this keeps up for the better, and that he doesn't choke anyone else out...
